Apple iPhone 4S improvements

The iPhone 4S has come with a number of improvements and in many ways is a very different phone to that of the original. The Apple may have seemed like and update, however looking beneath the body of the phone shows up a very different picture and offers the best smartphone features with some very cheap mobile phone contracts.

First thing the phone gets a new dual core chip – the same as is in the impressively powerful iPad2. This device also comes with a new GPU which gives it 7 times the power of the previous iPhone 4. The phone also has dual antenna, ensuring Apple has learned from the antenna mistakes of the past. They have also improved camera spec to 8mp for still and 1080p HD video recording for moving pictures. This is all a nice little touch and a spring up from the days of the iPhone 3G with its low resolution camera.

The device’s biggest leaps come in software. The new iPhone comes with the advent of IOS 5. Which will be available on all phones in the Apple range. This brings things such as iMessages and the like s well as notifications, greater twitter integration and a number of other excellent features that will make the phone more attractive to those that love the freedom of Android.

The phone’s other big plus is the Siri voice control technology, which will allow people to engage in most things through talking to their phone .This is also a leap for Apple and phone kind.

Windows 7 Phones Fall Out of Favour

In yet another blow to smartphones that run the Windows Phone 7 (WP7) operating system, smartphone manufacturers are giving WP7 the thumbs down saying that Android phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S are superior.
The problem seems to be not just that the WP7 operating system is flawed, but because Microsoft is not responding to calls to fix the, now well known, bugs. There are also pricing problems; Microsoft’s WP7 is seem by the industry to be very expensive when compared to Android.
Amongst users WP7 phones have been experiencing a very low demand when compared to the iPhone 4 and Android powered phones, and this is also influencing the decision of phone manufacturers who obviously need to cater to the requirements of their customers.
Apart from the Nokia N8, other Symbian powered phones are also seeing a downturn in demand. In February 2011 Nokia and Microsoft made a major announcement that they would collaborate on the development of a new operating system based on a hybrid of Windows 7 and Symbian. Phones using this new OS would begin to appear during 2012.
Interestingly, Google has made a statement to the effect that Nokia is making a mistake in partnering Microsoft and has put an alternative proposal on the table offering to provide Android to Nokia should they so wish.
Despite the fact that Symbian is finding less favour amongst users, the fact remains that it powers more smartphones than any other operating system. Until the beginning of this year it was shipped on almost a third of all new smartphones, though that has now been overtaken by Android.
The whole smartphone market is changing. Nowadays very few people are satisfied with a standard mobile phone and the majority of users have traded up or are trading up to fully fledged smartphones.
